The Standards Sub-Committee is chaired by Esme Newton-Dunn (Ruder Finn UK).

The Standards Sub-Committee is focused on maintaining the standing of healthcare communications, enabling HCA members to continue playing an important role in helping to ensure that patients receive appropriate
treatment and get the most from their medicines for years to come.

The sub-committee was formed in response to the changing healthcare environment created by both the Health Select Committee's Inquiry into the Influence of the Pharmaceutical Industry in April 2005 and the launch of the revised and more wide-ranging ABPI Code of Practice in January 2006.

The sub-committee is developed and is responsible maintaining the HCA Good Practice Guide (GPG) which currently covers working with the media.  For information on the GPG click here.
