The Training Sub-Committee is chaired by Julia Harries (Red Door Communications).
One of the most valuable benefits of membership is undoubtedly eligibility for reduced rates for HCA training programmes. The HCA offers a variety of highly targeted and practical training workshops. All are run by senior marketing and communications professionals with day-to-day experience of the pharmaceutical industry and/or the agency world and are consistently over-subscribed.
Regular topics include Meeting your Clients' Needs, created specifically for junior account handlers; Achieving Better Results Through PR, developed for pharma industry employees who are new to pharmaceutical marketing and public relations and Media Relations Workshop, which is open to all levels. Other popular courses include: Maximising International PR Campaigns, Capitalising on the Changing Healthcare Landscape and Marketing Insights.
The HCA regularly introduces new courses in direct response to changing circumstances. In 2006, it organised a training day in conjunction with the ABPI and the PM Society entitled The New ABPI Code of Practice: The Implications for pharmaceutical marketing to clarify the impact of revisions to the ABPI Code of Practice.
Training courses, which can be booked online, can be viewed in the Events Diary.
