Membership

HCA membership is open to healthcare communications consultancies, freelance healthcare communications practitioners and to any companies involved in the manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical and associated products.

Being a member of the HCA sends out a clear signal that a company is committed to raising the profile and understanding of healthcare communications and is committed to operating according to best communications practice.  Membership confers a wide variety of additional features and benefits.  Foremost among these is the opportunity for industry and consultancy to work together to improve healthcare communications standards.  Other specific features include:

  • Preferential rates at HCA training courses, leading to a better trained, more-effective workforce
  • Free access to the HCA Interative Evaluation Toolkit , helping to improve client confidence in the key area of evaluation
  • Free access to the HCA Good Practice Guide, which currently covers the standards for working with the media
  • Exclusive access to the annual Healthcare Consultancy Benchmarking Survey, allowing agencies to compare operating practices with other organisations
  • Exclusive access to the annual Pharmaceutical Company Benchmarking Survey
  • Opportunities to share knowledge and to participate in issues forums
  • Access to up-to-date informed analysis of key issues and developments affecting the healthcare industry
  • Access to the password-protected members-only section of the HCA website, which includes useful core resources and a user-friendly contact management system
  • The opportunity to display the HCA logo on advertising and promotional literature - agency membership of the HCA is denoted in the Communiqué directory
  • Membership benefits programme, special discounts on professional services and events

There are many other less tangible, but equally valuable benefits, such as the opportunity to network with leading industry figures and to exchange views with colleagues facing similar opportunities and challenges in a non-competitive and informal environment.
